Welcome to my blog.
This is Yuou.
I currently live and work in Tokyo as a consultant.
Before this endeavor, I studied mathematics and history at Columbia University. I’m interested in fundamental subjects that shed light on the creations, thoughts, and evolutions of both humanity and nature. In short, I’m interested in where we came from and where we are headed.
During college, I spent a decent amount of time investigating the bureaucratic structures of imperial Chinese governments, as well as mathematical topics like topology and algebra.
My other interests lie in arts and sports. I love painting and architecture and have a dog called Mo-zhi (which means “calligraphy ink” in Chinese). I enjoy cycling and lifting and helped organize a few triathlon races in China.
Besides Tokyo and New York, I’ve lived and worked in Shanghai, Hong Kong, Nairobi, and the US Midwest.
On this blog, I hope to post long writings that explain my work and academic pursuits, along with short writings on daily life.
Send me an email at yuou.w@columbia.edu to talk about any of the above subjects :)
Lastly, apologies for the rudimentary layout of this website. I intend for this site to be a place where I can share writings without spending too much time editing the design.
